President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally constituted the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the January 2027 general election — a 108-member structure with the President and Vice President Kashim Shettima sitting at the top as Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively.
Senator Abdul'Aziz Yari, former Governor of Zamfara State and current Senator for Zamfara West, was named Director-General, with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma serving as Secretary. Senator Adams Oshiomhole was named Deputy Director-General for Mobilisation.
The council's zonal structure places senior figures across all six geopolitical zones: Senator Olushola Adeyeye in the South-West, Dr Ngozi Olejeme in the South-South, Senator Uche Ekwunife in the South-East, Muntaqha Rabe in the North-West, Ahmed Muhammed Ketso in the North-Central, and Senator Sani Danladi in the North-East.
Accepting the appointment, Yari described the campaign as "more than an election — a conversation with the Nigerian people in every state, every language, every faith about the future we are building together," pledging a campaign run with discipline, unity, and respect for all.
The YFT (Yari for Tinubu) platform launched in the days following this announcement as the council's digital mobilisation arm — letting supporters register as members, track election updates, and carry a digital campaign ID from anywhere in the country.
